Filming and Photography in the Museum
Museum Hof van Busleyden is a unique location and it houses a valuable museum collection. Filming and photography for journalism and commercial purposes is permitted only with the museum's permission.
Filming and photography without a flash or tripod are permitted, except for certain works in the museum. These are clearly marked with a 'no photography/filming' icon. If considered necessary by the museum, a member of the museum staff will accompany the photographer or film crew in the museum.
It is not permitted to use equipment or materials that produce smoke, mist of vapour. Film or photo lights and/or other lighting must first be shown to the museum, should never be switched on for longer than is strictly necessary and should not exceed a brightness of 50 lux.
Movement or alteration of the existing setup of artworks in the museum to facilitate shooting is not permitted under any circumstances.
The museum is entitled to review the recordings for broadcasting and is authorised to stop filming/photography if it appears that the crew is deviating from the pre-approved script without permission.
Film and recording equipment can be loaded and unloaded via the entrance on Sint-Janstraat, but must be requested in advance. Entry is not permitted after 11 am, and carries a fine, as the entrance is located in a low-traffic zone.
