What will I get to see in the museum?

Step inside 1507 and discover Mechelen's rich heyday as the capital of the Burgundian Netherlands. In the permanent exhibition of Museum Hof van Busleyden, you will discover three worlds: that of governess Margaret of Austria, resident Hieronymus van Busleyden and the Hospital Sisters. The display also shows several Flemish masterpieces: from the beautifully illustrated Mechelen Choir Book to the unique collection of Enclosed Gardens. There is also contemporary art woven into the presentation.

Other than that there is a brand new coffee bar, a revamped museum shop and completely redesigned museum gardens.

Should I reserve a ticket online?

Tickets can be bought online or at the museum reception. They give you access to the permanent displays and exhibitions. Separate rates apply for activities and events.

Can I visit the museum in group?

Are you coming to the museum with friends, colleagues or family? You can choose from the group offer of guided tours of the permanent displays or exhibitions. You can book your group visit in advance online.

Is there a tour for individual visitors?

You can join a tour as an individual visitor on Sunday mornings. Book your ticket online to be sure of a place. Please note that this tour is only available in Dutch.

Is the museum easily accessible?

Everyone is welcome at Museum Hof van Busleyden. We do our best to make your visit as pleasant as possible. Whether you are less mobile, have impaired hearing or need a low-stimulus environment.

Can I buy a MuseumPass at the museum?

You can buy a MuseumPass at the museum reception. You can use it right away for your visit to Museum Hof van Busleyden.

How can I support the museum?

If you want to support the museum, you can become a Friend of the Museum. As a Friend, you have a front row seat to all the museum's activities, temporary exhibitions and projects. Visit numerous interesting exhibitions together, get inspired during lectures, take a look behind the scenes of the museum and catch up during cosy get-togethers.
